THE City Health Office (CHO) has ordered the closure of two restaurants for failure to pass the required sanitary standards set forth by the local government.

City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos said the physical aspects of the two restaurants' kitchens are not in accordance with the sanitary code and "we find it unsanitary." Agbulos did not release the names of the restaurants except in saying they are located in downtown area.

Aside from that, Agbulos said, the personnel who are working in the two restaurants especially those assigned in the kitchen do not possess health certificates.

Agbulos' personnel are conducting inspections of all the business establishments, especially restaurants and eateries, to ensure good sanitation since they are serving food to the public.

He said they are set to inspect six other restaurants operating in this city to check whether or not they operate in accordance to standards.

He urged the public to immediately report to them once they found eateries operating in unsanitary manner.
