The Eldy Gonzales campaign team has issued top reasons why his credentials, experience, and positions on major issues have made him the most deserving congressional candidate for District I. “Eldy Gonzales stands head-and-shoulders over his congressional rival in the May 14 elections,” said Baliwasan Kagawad Flor Ledesma, who serves as one of Gonzales’ campaign managers.
She said no other candidate has a record of leadership and service that comes close to Doc and no other candidate has taken a strong positions in support of the interest of the people of District I. Gonzales is considered by local academicians and school officials as the first Zamboangueño and Mindanaoan to become president of the Philippine Association of State Colleges and Universities (PASUC). Commenting on the reasons, the former Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) president said, “District One voters should know that I am running to serve as their legislator or voice to the House of Representatives.” According to Ledesma, if Gonzales gets elected, perhaps he will be the first ever solon from Zamboanga that has a doctor of public administration, who graduated from the University of the Philippines and Harvard University. The campaign manager added that Gonzales’ educational background is excellent than his political rival, who finished Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSEED). “So he is more intellectual (sic) than his political opponent. Plus his experience in congress and awareness of his network where he knows how to source out funding to support the City,” he said. Meanwhile, Gonzales called on the electorates to vote for candidates who are better, dedicated and sincere to serve the people and City of Zamboanga. (Hader Glang)
