District 1 councilor aspirant Atty. Melchor Sadain yesterday confirmed that there are some campaign materials of the candidates under the Nuevo Zamboanga Movement that were destroyed.
Sadain said it is believed that some of the posters and tarpaulins were intentionally removed and destroyed.
He said the posters destroyed were earlier placed in areas designated by the Commission on Election.
The noted lawyer said he could not identify the persons behind the vandalism since there are no evidences and witnesses.
Sadain appealed to the perpetrators to respect the rights of the politicians who spent money in making campaign materials for their candidacy.
It was learned that some campaign materials especially the tarpaulins are being used by some individuals to make seat cover and improvised house wall covers.
On the other hand, Sadain also disclosed that he has already covered all the barangays in District 1 but said he will continue making house to house sorties .
Sadain whose name appears in the “magic 8” in at least three surveys said he is still working hard to get the support of the people. — Dan Toribio Jr.
