A YOUNG pedicab driver was arrested Sunday afternoon by the local police for his alleged stabbing of a 59-year-old man at Suterville subdivision, Barangay San Jose Gusu, this city.
Police Investigation Section Chief Insp. Elmer Acuna identified the victim as Juri Ahmad Daud y Sangkahan, 59, married; and a resident of Mango drive, of the said place.
Daud suffered a single stab wound on the upper right portion of his chest and was rushed to Zamboanga Brent Hospital for medical treatment. The attending physician declared the victim in critical condition.
Initial investigation conducted by the responding policemen disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was standing outside his residence while sending text messages to an unidentified person.
Reports showed that the suspect suddenly appeared and without any provocation palled out a knife and stabbed the victim once on Jus chest
The suspect immediately escaped towards Barangay San Roque after the incident but was later collared by Task Force Kap-Kap Chief Insp. Ibrahim Jambiran with the help of the victim's relatives who pinpointed the hideout of the suspect
The suspect is temporarily detained at the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) while a frustrated homicide case is being readied against him in court. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
