An army soldier was shot dead by one of two motorcycle riding gunmen at Jumbo Bridge in Guiwan at dawn last Sunday.
Police identified the fatality as MSgt. Eduardo Messiona who was assigned at Camp Enrile, Malagutay and a resident of Pasonanca.
Initial investigation disclosed that Messiona was driving a motorcycle with Vallede Cabasag and Jebralyn Sumagang as backriders when another motorcycle with two men riding tandem sidled up and the backrider shot Messiona using a .38 cal. revolver .
When Messiona’s motorcycle crashed, the gunman alighted from their motorcycle and took the Nokia 3310 cell phone of Cabasag.
The killers sped towards unknown direction.
Messiona sustained a bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.
