Kampi mayoralty candidate Monsis Cris dela Cruz of the Nuevo Zamboanga yesterday reiterated that whatever attempts by his political detractors to destroy his good name he will not stoop down to dirty politics.
“Even if we disagree on how we should run the city and no matter what they say I’ll be consistent. I give my respect. I give my love. I will always respect the office they represent. I wont stoop down to their (rivals) level,” dela Cruz said.
He said he will always give his message of hope to the people on how he can help the businessmen in terms of the problems of taxes, in terms of job creation, and in terms of livelihood projects for the poor and scholarships for the youth.
Mayor Celso Lobregat yesterday branded dela Cruz anew as a hypocrite, who keeps on attacking him in the Nuevo Zamboanga rallies and campaign sortie in the different barangays.
But the former priest maintained that no matter how hard the mayor is trying to destroy him, he will always give his respect to show to the people that there is decency in politics here.
“You might insult me publicly or not but I will show to the people that there is an alternative, which they can choose,” he said. “If the people think the mayor is doing well then no doubt he should be elected.”
He added: “If they think the mayor is not doing well in terms of addressing the problems of the market vendors and tricycle drivers. Then I’m asking the people to support us because in Nuevo Zamboanga there is hope.”
“But never can you expect to stoop down to their level by attacking them. It will not be an eye for eye but it will be love in exchange of the insults that I received.” (Hader Glang)
