Salapuddin is optimistic that the authorities can handle the situation in Basilan.
He called on the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Marines and the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines to be more alert and vigilant because his opponents have 800 high-powered firearms, with four tubes of 81 mm mortar and four tubes of 91 recoiless rifle that they are going to use to terrorize the election on May 14.
Congressional candidate Salliman also disclosed that they already filed a disqualification case against Akbar last April 3 .
He said they are optimistic that once the Commission on Election will take action, Akbar will be disqualified because of the evidence on blatant violation of the Election Code for terrorizing and intimidating the voters.
Salapuddin also said that they will see to it that Akbar will be put behind bars “for what he has done to the people of Basilan.”
