District 2 Council aspirant Jimmy Villaflores yesterday expressed elation over the positive response and the continuous pledges of support he is getting from the people in the District’s barangays during his campaign sorties.
“It’s heartwarming to know the support that we’re getting directly from the people. They were eager to listen to our platform of government and would-be projects if ever we will be given the mandate. Definitely, they are looking for new candidates who could provide them with good alternative for the growth and development of the entire city,” said Villaflores.
People from the different walks of life were surprised to found out that Villaflores, who is noted as hard hitting and fearless broadcaster, is very friendly and accommodating to ordinary people, and also one that can easily go along with the common folks.
“Indeed, we were happy that Jimmy came to our barangay and campaign here. Although he is perceived to be a strong and fearless radio commentator when he is anchoring his radio program, I came to know that in person he is kind and down-to-earth,” a house wife from Tetuan told DZT.
Villaflores, who is running under the Nuevo Zamboanga, is the only candidate who comes from the present broadcasting industry.
Through his radio program “El Imbestigador”, the young journalist was instrumental in helping and assisting many people with their various problems.
Villaflores was also noted for strong sense of character and decency in the media industry as he was readily elected into various media clubs and organizations here in the city.
Currently, Villaflores is one of the active and dynamic member of the Sta. Catalina Barangay Council.
Jimmy, as most popularly know to friends, is also actively involved in the Guardian Brotherhood, Zamboanga City High School Alumni Association, Press Club, and Federation of Barangay Kagawads (Febarkaza). — Jemuel E. Mojica
