A policeman was shot dead by his brother-in-law in Barangay Sinunuc last Wednesday night.
A police report identified the fatality as PO1 Ricky Apion of the Ayala Police Station and was a resident of Sinunuc. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head and died on the spot.
Police identified the attacker as Rosely Enok, a member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU).
Initial investigation disclosed that Apion was watching television at his mother’s house in Sinunuc around 7:50 p.m. when Enok arrived and shot Apion at close range. The incident was witnessed by Apion’s brother Peter who was at that time outside the house. Enok poked his gun at Peter before fleeing. Police said Enok boarded a getaway motorcycle driven by his brother Joseph and sped towards unknown direction. Police were looking into a family feud as the possible motive behind the incident. The Sinunuc Police Station has launched a manhunt operation against Enok. —Dan Toribio Jr. A policeman was shot dead by his brother-in-law in Barangay Sinunuc last Wednesday night.
