Zamboanga City (14 August) -- The Kabisig Mindanao in cooperation with Philippine Information Agency -Zamboanga Provincial Information Center will launch on October 8-11, 2007 a one–stop showcase dubbed as "Kabisig Government Expo 2007" at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) Gymnasium. Various national government agencies, LGUs, NGOs are expected to participate in the government expo. "The Kabisig government expo aims to promote projects, programs and accomplishments of the government bureaucracies to the public through linkages with different sectors." Kabisig Chairman Daniel Guillen said. "The government expo will also provide opportunities for local government units to promote their investment and tourism potentials for development" Guillen added. He said the expo or information exhibit will benefit the public as this will serve as venue for people to get acquainted with various sectors of the government as well as its functions, services and facilities.
The Kabisig Government Expo will showcase office profile, including office directories, organizational chart and list of officers. It will also feature the accomplishments of each participating agency, various service facilities and programs and projects. It will also showcase project profile, it's mission, vision and objectives. Mr. Guillen said job fair, trainings, seminars, fora will also be conducted during the 5-day activity. Kabisig Mindanao Foundation is an NGO whose main objective is to create public awareness of government accomplishments through information exhibits. Its mission is to bring and promote government closer to the people and make the public aware of and appreciative of government. Mr. Guillen said Malacañang has issued Memorandum Order No. 245 signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita enjoining to all government line departments and attached agencies, GOCCs and universities, and LGU to extend support and participation in said exhibit. Kabisig Information exhibits were previously conducted here in Zamboanga City in October 2005 at the CDCP Complex and in 1999 at the then Ateneo De Zamboanga Gymnasium. (PIA ZC)
