VINTAS OR BANCAS of various sizes, shapes and color lined up the R.T. Lim boulevard shoreline Sunday, Oct. 7, for the spectacular Regatta de Zamboanga, a major event in this year’s Fiesta Hermosa revelry
Five boat operators stood out among the 115 total participants in the sailboat race, an activity that is synonymous to Zamboanga, Asia’s Latin City. The Regatta, he said, is one opportunity where Zamboanguenos share their hospitality and culture with people from other cities, provinces and other parts of the world.
Lobregat awarded the winners in the hour long competition. - Alkama Daris and Ugis Kalim of Manalipa Island won first place and went home with P10, 000; Sanny Alallim and Buluan Iraham of Tictabon Island ranked second with P7, 000 cash prize while Danny Ladja and Hadjad Hamie of Sinunuc placed third with a cash prize of P5, 000.
