THE City Health Office (CHO) has placed five of Zamboanga City's 98 barangays under close watch following the recent reported death of 14 people due to dengue. CHO head Rodel Agbulos said placed under close watch by his office are the barangays of Talon-Talon, San Roque, Calarian, Baliwasan and Guiwan.
Agbulos said they are monitoring the health of the people living near the areas where the 14 victims came from to ensure that there would be no further spread of the disease. He said they are also constantly conducting anti-dengue drive in the five barangays to eliminate mosquito dengue carrier. Agbulos noted that most of the 14 victims who recently died were already middle-aged people unlike at the height of the dengue outbreak when most of the fatalities were children. He urged the public to help keep their respective surroundings clean to eliminate breeding places of mosquito that serves as dengue carrier.
