The recent robbery in a local three-star hotel should get the city government’s agency overseeing the welfare of local hotels moving. While this may be read as a separate case with but an intent to gain money and material things from the hotel manager as the alleged victim, the incident triggers a question on the security consciousness of hotels for their own property, and ultimately, for that of their guests’ security. And a next consideration would be to look at what the city government’s concerned agency is doing to boost the business interests and welfare of these tourism-related establishments considering that, the hotels are where the city’s visitors stay to have the feel of Asia’s Latin City.
